How to Make Money Photographing Pets and Their Owners

Are you looking for some way to begin making money from digital photography? Here are some money making tips that are sure to get the digital photography orders coming your way.

You might want to consider making money photographing pets and pet owners; therefore, you should think pets. Think about the types of events that cater to proud pet owners, while they have their pets accompany them in public.

Once you have some ideas in mind you, should contact the organizers of these special pet events and negotiate a deal in providing a digital photography service to these events. You should promote your skilled services in such a manner as that the event organizers will understand how your presence will enhance the event.

One selling factor to use here would be to offer to provide in exchange the event photographs. On the other hand, in exchange for setting up your photography booth from which you will take orders or you might agree to pay a set fee or even a small percentage of your profits.

The types of events to consider for a digital photography service:

Pet Shows

Many large cities regularly hold pet shows, such as dog, cat, horse or bird shows. Do some research and find out when and where the next local pet show is taking place, then make contact with the events organizers with your offer to be on site taking digital photographs. You may be required to rent one of their show booths; however, this can prove to be a good advantage point, as you will then have a standard location where you can promote your digital photography services.

At one time, I owned a pedigreed ragdoll cat, which I loved dearly and enjoyed showing her at cat shows. Like many pet owners a cat owner who takes the time to show their pets in competitions are extremely proud of the animals. They take great care in grooming their pets as well as going to great extents to decorate a special holding cage for their pet.

These pet owners will pay good money to have their beloved pet photographed, particularly while the judging is occurring and most certainly, if a prize is awarded to their pet.

Use the Google search engine to find animal shows, find out the locations and the dates or if you like you may contact animal associations and inquire about their shows.

Take Your Pet to Church Day

Some churches feature a special day of blessings, while they invite their members to bring their pet to an Animal Blessing service. Contact the pastor and see what kind of agreement you can come to.

Swim with Your Dog Day

In some communities, the recreation centers will announce a Swim with Your Dog Day on the day before they drain the public pool for annual cleaning. If your local community recreation center does not do this, perhaps you could suggest it to them

Contact Your Local Pet Shop

Talk with you local pet shop owner and see what type deal you may be able to work out with them. Have them promote your digital photography services on a certain day and time. On the day of the photo shoot, you will be able to photograph the pets, take orders and make delivery arrangements.

To achieve the best photographs it is a good idea to set up in a private area of the shop, as excitable and nervous animals are best photographed in surroundings that are quite. You should also avoid using a flash while taking photographs of animals so their eyes are not accosted by a sudden flash of bright light.

Be sure to bring along some pet toys for props when photographing young animals. Keep in mind that you may have to engage the pet being photographed in to some type of activity, before being rewarded with the best pose for a photograph.

Approach Animal Breeders

Another area to consider when looking for places to promote your photography service is to approach animal breeders, as they normally do a lot of business and have many contacts who may be interested in having you photograph their favorite pets.

Provide the breeder with coupons promoting your service. Offer some photographs or a finder's fee as an enticement if you receive an order from one of the breeder's customers. Prepare some coupons for the breeder to include in a package when the breeder sells an animal to a new pet owner.

You might also want to make an offer of taking some photos of the breeder grounds and environment as well as any animals for sale. Then the breeder will be able to use these photographs on their website or in other advertisements that may also offer many other photo shot opportunities for your business.

Photographing cherished pets is an excellent way to make money from digital photography, since pet industry is continually thriving.
